Hey, Sailor!

Sunny Day
Pretty thrilled with this purse and how it turned out. I really like purses with this rounded hobo shape and decided to try and make my own pattern. So without further ado:

Well, hello sailor! [Measures approx: 20" wide and 12" tall, excluding handles.]

Thanks, that was the tricky part, I wanted to do a knot-look but didn't have much room. I think it turned out nicely :)

Lovely! How does this compare in size to your 'Standing up to the crochet gods' bag? Bigger, smaller, similar? If I wanted to make it significantly bigger, what would you suggest?

This one is similar, the other bag is about 23" wide and 12" tall (excluding handles). So they're both quite large. If you wanted to make it bigger you could do either of the following:

- Super Bulky yarn with bigger hook (single-stranded)

or

- Add rows to the body in the repeat section in multiples of 8 and adding a pattern repeat to the red portion for every 8 additional rows and then you'd have to extend the handles accordingly.

Red Rope effect
Do you think you can do a step-by-step of how to do the red rope effect? I can't really see how it should look for the first row of fp trtr

Re: Red Rope effect
Sure, I'll see if I can take some pictures or make a little video, it was kind of tricky to explain.
